Firefighters from Colchester, Weeley, Clacton, Brightlingsea and an aerial ladder platform from Chelmsford are currently working to extinguish a fire in a derelict warehouse near Hythe Station Road, Colchester. 

Station Manager Ryan Ainger said: "When crews arrived they found a fire on the ground floor of a two storey warehouse. The fire was spreading into the first floor and roof space. Initially our Control team received information that there may be people inside. Firefighters have now conducted a full search of the building and are extinguishing hot spots." 

Firefighters have extinguished a bedroom fire after a portable heater fell over and set fire to the carpet, which spread to the bed. 

Crews from Clacton were called to an incident near Spinnaker Close, Clacton on Monday 18 November at 6.54pm. 

When they arrived they found a well developed fire in the bedroom. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire and ventilate the property.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as deliberate. 

Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving a large derelict building in London Road, Copford.

Crews were called to the incident at 8:45pm last night (18 November) and four crews, along with an aerial ladder platform, were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews found the building, which was covered in scaffolding, completely alight. Due to the instability of the structure, all firefighting was carried out externally.

Firefighters from Loughton’s Red Watch came to the rescue of Tango, an English Pointer, who found himself stuck in a plastic pipe running under a footpath in Epping Forest.

It’s believed Tango was spooked by something, causing him to run into the narrow pipe. Crews used chimney rods, positive reinforcement, and a carefully planned approach to encourage him out. Eventually, a firefighter was able to catch Tango and bring him to safety.

Tango is now happily back home with his owner, thanks to the teamwork and dedication of Loughton’s firefighters.

Crews responded to a fire in Market Square, Saffron Walden, after receiving multiple 999 calls just before lunchtime.

Reports suggested that people might be missing in three flats located above a café bar. Thankfully, bar staff acted quickly to evacuate the premises.

Fire engines from Saffron Walden, Newport and Stansted were called to the scene. Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service, including their Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), also attended to support at the scene.

Crews have urged residents to make sure their hobs are clear after a kitchen fire in Chelmsford today.

We were called to a property in Lodge Avenue, Great Baddow at 2.38pm when the occupant heard a smoke alarm and discovered a fire in the kitchen. 

Firefighters found the kitchen filled with smoke and extinguished the fire on the hob.

Watch Manager Andy Edwards said: "The electric cooker had been turned on accidentally and set fire to an air fryer which had been left on the hob.
