While the heatwave brought record temperatures for the UK, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service had an exceptionally busy week with almost triple its usual calls and incidents for this time of year

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has appealed to the public for their support throughout this week amid record-breaking temperatures and dry conditions. 

The hot weather means we’ve been extremely busy over the past few days, dealing with around double the number of incidents we would be normally called to.

A week ago today, Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive Rick Hylton visited the crews at Green Watch, Rayleigh Weir to present Chief Fire Officer Commendations to the crews.
