Redstone House, Harlow
TO: All residents of Redstone House
WARNING: PROHIBITION NOTICE IN FORCE FROM 10am on Thursday 8 May 2025 |
A PROHIBITION NOTICE UNDER ARTICLE 31 OF THE REGULATORY REFORM FIRE SAFETY ORDER HAS BEEN SERVED ON THIS PREMISES AND WILL TAKE EFFECT AT 10AM ON THURSDAY 8 MAY 2025.
A Prohibition Notice has been served as Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) considers that the use of the premises involves a risk so serious that use of the premises ought to be prohibited. This means it is not safe to live there.
The Prohibition Notice took effect from 10am on Thursday 8 May and prohibits the use of the premises for any residential purpose.
This notice has been served because ECFRS is clear that the property does not meet fire regulations. Specifically, the Service believes if there was a fire in the building there is potential this would remain undetected and pose significant risk to those living in the building. This would mean residents would not be able to evacuate quickly and safely and which would put residents at a higher risk of serious injury or death.
The Prohibition Notice has been served on the owner of the premises and means the premises must not be used as residential accommodation.
The Prohibition Notice means that you will need to vacate your property at 10am, or as soon as you are told this information, on Thursday 8 May.
ECFRS is liaising with Harlow Council to provide immediate support to residents who are affected by the notice.
What this means for you:
- You must leave your home at 10am today - Thursday 8 May - or as soon as you have received this letter.
- You will not be allowed to live in the building until it is made safe.
