House fire

A fire investigation has been carried out and the cause was recorded as accidental - electrical fault.

Incident Commander Dan Wastell said: "Crews have worked hard and the fire is now under control. It is two semi-detached houses which are fully alight. There is still a lot of smoke coming from the incident so if you live in the area please keep your windows and doors closed." 

A fire investigation will be carried out tomorrow morning to determine the cause. 

Firefighters are currently tackling a house fire on Katonia Avenue, Mayland. 

If you live in the area, please keep all your windows and doors closed as there is smoke coming from the fire. 

Crews from Burnham, Maldon, South Woodham Ferrers, Witham and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Chelmsford are in attendance. Additional crews from Rochford and Tollesbury have been requested to support the incident.
