Crews tackle lorry fire on A12

Firefighters responded to a fire involving an HGV on the A12 between Junctions 23 and 24 today (Thursday 9 October).

We were called at 12.34pm to a fire in a lorry carrying chickens. The fire was extinguished by 1.53pm.

Crews worked with colleagues from Essex Police to make the area safe and ensured the welfare of the birds remained a priority.
