Crews extinguish fire affecting hay and agricultural building
Crews have extinguished a fire affecting hay, an agricultural building and a caravan in Matching Tye.
We were called to Harlow Road today (Saturday 14 June) at 3.06pm and crews from Harlow (two), Leaden Roding and Newport attended.
Group Manager Steve Wintrip said: "Crews found a fully developed fire affecting a static caravan and an agricultural building, measuring around 20 metres by 5 metres, full of hay.
"Crews worked really hard to stop the fire spreading to a chemical store and garage, and also managed to save around half of the building.
"Two crews will be at the scene into the evening to remove around four tonnes of hay from the agricultural building, with help from a farmer using a digger, and make sure the fire is completely extinguished."
It is believed the cause was accidental.
