Videos shared to help young people learn new skills

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has shared a number of videos to help young people learn new skills and to help those working towards completing Duke of Edinburgh awards.

The Service’s Duke of Edinburgh Officer, Christina Prior, has shared a number of short lessons from map symbols to cardinal points to help young people learn something new and to help them continue their work towards the awards during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Fire Cadets in ECFRS have the opportunity to work towards a Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and Christina works with the cadets to help them progress throughout the programme.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service's Fire Cadet programme is a nationally recognised three year programme run at six fire stations across Essex.

Cadet teams are based at Clacton, Harlow, Great Baddow, Southend, Orsett and Dovercourt.
