Thankyou Thursday - Elderly woman thanks Service for helping to fix faulty smoke

Our Home Fire Safety team has been thanked for helping to repair a faulty smoke alarm.

Last week, we were contacted by an elderly woman in Doddinghurst who had a faulty smoke alarm. Our Home Fire Safety team spoke to the woman on the phone and guided her through repairing the smoke alarm without having to enter the house.

We will be keeping our 0300 303 0088 home fire safety advice number open for as long as we are physically able to. The public and our partners can call us for advice and guidance or to refer someone who is at serious risk of fire. This hasn't changed.

Data tells us accidental house fires are more likely to happen when people spend more time at home, which is why we’ve created a number of videos to help people understand how they can stay safe in their home, particularly at a time we may be less likely to be able to visit them.
