Funding for local causes on offer, courtesy of Colchester Fire Swim
Following the successful Fire Swim event held at Colchester Leisure World last October, organisers are looking for local organisations which could benefit from the charity funding raised.
Colchester Fire Swim has been running for more than three decades, with more than half a million pounds being raised for good causes during that time.
Half of the money raised each year is donated to the Fire Fighters’ Charity, while a committee then chooses a variety of local causes to benefit with the remaining funds.
Jeremy Tuckwell, event organiser and Chair of Colchester Fire Swim, said: “The event was a great success and we raised thousands of pounds.
"We are now calling out to local charities who think they could benefit from funding from our event this year.
“Funding applications are open until Monday 1 July so if you are part of a local group, let us know what you plan to use the money for.”
To apply for funding, email firstname.lastname@example.org or write to Jeremy Tuckwell, Colchester Fire Swim, Witham Fire Station, Hatfield Road, Witham, Essex, CM8 1EW
The event is taking place on Saturday 5 October 2019. If you would like to enter, please email email@example.com.
