Over 100 colleagues attended the event at The Lion House, Boreham, on Monday 18 November, which was led by BBC Essex hosts Steve Scruton and Ian Wyatt and presented by Jo Turton, Chief Fire Officer/ Chief Executive and members of the Service Leadership Team.
Prior to the night ten colleagues together judged more than 100 nominations, resulting in 24 shortlisted individuals and teams for the event's seven awards.
In addition to the awards, two employees were honoured with a Chief Fire Officer/ Chief Executive Commendation after their bravery and actions during a recent incident.
Jo Turton, Chief Fire Officer/ Chief Executive, said:
“This year, we received a record 110 entries.
“To see our people recognise the passion and commitment of their colleagues, both within their own teams and throughout the wider service, is a real testament to our Service pride and One Team culture.
“While the evening is about celebrating our people who went ‘above and beyond’, inspired others or developed new ways of working, it is also important to recognise the work all of our colleagues do every day to keep our communities safe.
“As an organisation, we have been through some major changes in the last few years, but one has remained constant; the passion and professionalism that our staff and volunteers display - I want to thank each and every one of them for everything they do to make Essex a safe place to live, work and travel.“
