Charity Tuesday - Could you support the Fire Fighters Charity?

This Charity Tuesday, we’re appealing for help for a charity close to our hearts, The Fire Fighters Charity.

Throughout each year, we fundraise for The Fire Fighters Charity with charity car washes, with donation buckets at our open days and by running marathons and other sponsored events.

This year during the Covid-19 pandemic, lots of our fundraising efforts have been put on hold and across the country, fundraising efforts for The Fire Fighters Charity have been limited. This has seen the charity face a shortfall of around £200,000 a month.

The charity is a vital support network for firefighters and support staff who need advice and support with their mental health, physical health and social wellbeing.

How can you help?

  • Donate your unwanted clothes to The Fire Fighters Charity, we have a number of clothes banks dotted across the county outside of our fire stations with proceeds going to the charity. Find your nearest clothes bank here
  • Consider setting up a monthly donation, the charity is almost entirely funded by donations. Find out more here
  • Hold a fundraising event for The Fire Fighters Charity. Whether it’s a virtual event or a socially distanced event, we’ve seen members of the public hold events to help support the charity including Nicola who raised £630 with a wheelie bin walk
  • If you are a local business owner, look to become a corporate partner. Find out more here
