In attendance: 2 x Chelmsford, 1 x Brentwood, 1 x Basildon, 1 x Ingatestone, 1 x Billericay off-road vehicle
Firefighters were called to a large field fire in Hall Lane, Ingatestone this afternoon.
On arrival, crews reported that approximately 3 acres of stubble were on fire.
Crews worked with a Railway Incident Officer at Network Rail to inform them of the smoke blowing across the train lines while they extinguished the fire which also involved railway sleepers.
The fire was extinguish by 3:24pm and the cause has been recorded as undetermined.
Incident Commander Scott Meekings said: "Crews worked really hard in hot weather to extinguish this fire and worked closely with the Railway Incident Officer to minise disruption to the train lines."
