Fire at recycling plant

Four crews are tackling a fire at a recycling plant.
Firefighters were called to what was initially reported as a small fire in Station Road, East Tilbury today at 6.08pm.
The first crew to arrive found an industrial building alight and requested more support.
They are tackling a fire in a ground floor plant room.
The electricity supply has been isolated and the energy company has been contacted.
Incident Commander Dave Bond from Orsett Fire Station, praised both the incredible hard work of the crews and the onsite staff in resolving this incident.
He said: “We were inititally called to a small fire and on arrival found a well developed fire in one of the site's industrial buildings. Crews worked incredibly hard in a challenging situation to minimise fire spread and extinguish the fire. The information and support from the onsite staff was crucial too in creating as safe an environmental as was possible for our crews to do their job.”
The fire has been extinguished but two crews will remain at the scene to make sure it does not restart.
The cause has been recorded as accidental.
