Are you a coordinator already bringing home educated children together?
You can request an age-appropriate safety session for your group, designed to give children and young people the knowledge and confidence to make safer choices in everyday life, by completing our booking form below:
For more information on our current topics please visit our Education Programme page.
Please note, sessions should be delivered in suitable community spaces, such as halls, community centres, libraries or similar group settings. This offer is not intended for sessions in private premises or on a 1-to-1 basis.
To make sure we can deliver an engaging and seamless experience for your learners, there are a few requirements which will help us make the most of our visit. We greatly appreciate your support in putting these arrangements in place, as it enables our officers to provide the best possible session.
Please download our Home Education Visit Guide for more information.
Do you home educate or care for a child who is currently not in school?
Join Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for a fun and interactive education session designed to help engage children in a range of subjects including home fire safety and cyber safety. The sessions are led by our experienced Education Officers who deliver our education programmes in schools across Essex.

StayWise - saving lives through education
StayWise is a free online library of safety resources from the emergency services (fire, police, ambulance, RNLI, coastguard) and other safety organisations, led by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC). It helps teachers and community safety practitioners deliver essential safety messages to children and young people.
Resources are age-appropriate, curriculum-linked, and engaging, covering topics like fire safety, water safety, and more. You can filter by age group, subject, or safety theme, making it easy to teach important safety skills.
We use StayWise to deliver safety education across Essex, and anyone can access it - teachers, parents, or community workers. Teachers and emergency service staff can register for the 'Teachers' or 'Blue Light Users' sections, while the 'Public Resources' section is available to everyone.
