Saffron Walden Fire Station Charity Car Wash and Raffle in aid of Team Olly in association with the Fire Fighters Charity

Olly's story:
Up until a few months ago Olly was a fit and healthy 40 year old husband and dad of two living in Newport, Essex.

Four months ago Olly started to get weakness in his legs along with cramps, which led to him having falls. After many tests Olly was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND causes messages from the motor neurones to gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste. MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Symptoms progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of this cruel disease difficult to predict.

MND is life shortening and there is currently no cure. We hope Olly’s symptoms will be managed in order to help him achieve the best possible quality of life.

We aim to raise funds for the ongoing comfort and care of Olly. These needs will be ever changing and we would like to ensure both he and his lovely family can have quality time with each other, creating special memories without financial concerns. Most of all we would like to help Olly complete as many things on his bucket list as possible - from driving experiences to taking his girls to see Santa in Lapland.

Raffle Prizes Donated by local businesses.
