Firefighter - Essex County Fire & Rescue Service
Working Hours: Whole-time Firefighter duty system
Role: Competent Firefighter
We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified, competent Whole-time Firefighters, who are currently serving with a UK Fire Authority (Excluding Aviation Authorities), and are looking to transfer to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.
- The applicant is a Competent Firefighter (Substantive Post)
- The applicant can complete relevant fitness assessment
- The applicant has successfully completed all relevant operational assessments and compulsory courses for their role
- The applicant has no current live disciplinary warnings, or ongoing performance or capability processes

Role Specific Interview
This will be a competency based interview which should last for approximately 45 minutes. The formal interview panel will consist of two ECFRS assessors. For further interview guidance please visit:

Successful candidates will be required to undertake a 5 weeks course run by the Service Training Centre in Witham and successful applicants are advised they could be posted to serve at any Service location within Essex Fire Service.
