Adam Eckley, Acting Chief Officer for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said:
“Our Fire Authority has supported the progression and development of the local business case for joint governance of police and fire and rescue service in Essex.
“Our Service is committed to working collaboratively with other emergency services, local authorities and other stakeholders to make Essex a safe place to live, work and travel. Following today’s announcement, I am looking forward to working even closer with the Police and Crime Commissioner, his office and Essex Police, and sharing best practice to ensure we continue to deliver a forward thinking service.
“As part of this change process, we will now engage with our employees and representative bodies in the Service.”
