Consultation and Communicating

Consulting and communicating with residents is essential for us to measure our performance. User satisfaction is continually monitored to provide us with performance indicators on where we can make changes and improvements to the quality of our service.

ECFRS always aim to take community views into account when reviewing service delivery.

Community consultation ensures citizens are aware of the service we provide and kept updated of campaigns and safety information. ECFRS is committed to building partnerships with its stakeholders to achieve greater community involvement in its activities and decision making process.

Activ8 Community Volunteers

Activ8 is a community volunteer initiative launched to build on our consultation and engagement with the public.

Volunteers are recruited from the community to assist ECFRS in communicating with their peer groups, getting our messages across to the public and ensuring that we connect with vulnerable, hard-to-reach groups.

More gets done if people in an area work together. Bringing together experience and expertise, we can understand local people, places and problems, making sure the right actions are taken and right services delivered.

Being involved in volunteering can benefit neighbourhoods and connect people with their local fire station. Being inclusive in our approach to recruiting volunteers we will support integration and community cohesion.

If you are interested in taking part or would like further information regarding our consultations please contact Chloe Rowling, Consultation & Engagement Officer, on 01376 576125 or email consultation@essex-fire.gov.uk
