Essex County Fire and Rescue Service are planning to mark St George’s Day with a special service wide car wash which will raise money for charity.
The scheme is the brainchild of DCFO Gordon Hunter who is not only hoping that all stations will take part but is also rolling his sleeves up himself along with the Chief and Senior Officers to clean cars.
The money raised will be split between an army charity and the Fire Fighter's Charity.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer Gordon Hunter said: “This car wash is a great way to mark St George’s Day and raise money for the brave young men and women who have fought for their country.
“People can have their cars cleaned and know that their money is going to an extremely good cause as well."
