David Johnson

David Johnson joined the Royal Berkshire Fire Service in 1989, where he worked for six years leaving Berkshire as Watch Commander. He transferred to London Fire Brigade where he spent two years working at Heston and Feltham Stations before taking up post as a Station Officer in Fire Safety in 1997 with Leicestershire. 

He progressed quickly through a number of roles and in 2001 moved to Nottinghamshire as an SDO. Following three years with Nottingham David left as Assistant Chief Officer to take up his new post as Deputy Chief Officer in Essex. He took up his current position as Chief Fire Officer in July 2005.
David has a strong academic background, which includes a qualified Law Degree, BSc in Fire Service Studies, MA in Management and an MSc in Fire Command and Management.
