Taster sessions in January aimed at potential firefighters
Teacher? Communicator? Care provider? Community minded? Physically fit? We’re looking for you.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is hosting four sessions to give Essex residents the chance to find out more about becoming a firefighter.
The events will take place on Saturday 19 and 26 January.
If you are motivated, ready for a challenge and a team player this could be just want you’ve been looking for.
Whether you’re interested in applying to one of our on-call fire stations, or think you might apply to become a wholetime firefighter when recruitment begins in spring 2019, here’s your chance to find out more about the role of a modern day firefighter.
No two days are the same when you’re a firefighter. Our role has developed and so has our place in the community.
Firefighting isn’t just about fighting fires. As well as the varied incidents you could attend, such as road traffic collisions and floods, you are just as likely to be carrying out a home safety visit, talking to the community about fire safety or working with our partners to support a campaign.
Come along to find out more about the role and try out some of the physical tests you’d need to perform during recruitment and training. Our firefighters and fitness advisors will all be on hand to offer advice and support.
Tickets are limited and must be booked via Eventbrite:
Saturday 19 January, 2-4pm: Mixed-gender – FULLY BOOKED
Please ensure you bring a drink and wear sportswear on the day.
There is no parking at the venue - please plan your journey before you arrive and park considerately.
