Roy's Charity Cycle Challenge
USAR Technician Roy Cuppelditch is preparing to cycle non-stop for 12 hours to raise money for Sports Relief and The Fire Fighters Charity.
Roy, who works at the Urban Search and Rescue site in Lexden, Colchester, will be joining keen cyclists from around Essex at Indoor Revolution in Braintree on March 18 for the mammoth challenge.
Roy said: “I took up cycling over 18 months ago now and I really enjoy it. I joined my local cycling club, the Colchester Rovers, and have taken part in several races, but 12 hours non-stop will certainly be big a challenge for me. I am hoping to cover over 200 miles during the cycle and beat my previous record of 193miles which I did last year in Wales.
“Sports Relief and The Fire Fighters Charity are such amazing charities and help so many people. I am really proud to be raising money for them.
“If anyone would like to join me, there are still places available for people. You can book a one hour slot for just a £5 donation.”
