Firefighters donate snack box to local hospital
Red Watch at Harlow Fire Station stocked up on sweets and treats to create a snack box for colleagues in the NHS.
After speaking to a family friend who is nurse at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Watch Manager Steve Harrison and his colleagues wanted to help in any way they could.
The firefighters pooled together to fill the snack box with bottles of drink, crisps and other individually wrapped snacks to keep the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers going during their busy 12 hour shifts.
Steve passed the box onto his friend to share with her colleagues and the team are keeping in touch regularly to keep them stocked up with snacks.
Watch Manager Steve Harrison from Harlow Fire Station said: “We wanted to do something to help the community in Harlow.
“We’re doing something small, but hopefully it helps them to do their jobs.”
