Extrication Team - strong start to 2016
The Service’s RTC Extrication team have scored their first podium finish in their very first competition of 2016 coming an impressive second against a tough field at the Lincolnshire UKRO Regional Extrication Challenge.
As well as coming second overall there were individual plaudits with Medics Anthony Clement and Jeremy Tuckwell taking first in their category and second place finishes for the team’s Command and Technical prowess.
The seven strong team is made up of Kevin Mitson, Anthony Clements, Nick Singleton and Jeremy Tuckwell from the Service training section; Colchester firefighter Kelvin Tuckwell and Clacton firefighter Mick Lawrence. The team is led by manager Divisional Officer Nigel Dilley.
DO Dilley said: “This was another excellent result for the team, especially as it was our first competition of 2016. It was an extremely tough field and the everyone did an excellent job with yet another podium finish.
“We are continuing to build on last year’s success, which took us to the World Rescue Challenge finals in Portugal, and all are looking forward to the upcoming Regionals in July as we prepare for the UKRO National finals taking place in Hampshire this September.”
