Essex FBU will strike Sunday in local dispute
Members of the Fire Brigades Union in Essex will strike for 15 hours from 6pm on Sunday (March 1) to 9am on Monday (March 2). The industrial action is part of its local dispute.
Essex will once again have strong, well-rehearsed resilience arrangements in place to protect the County with working ECFRS crews providing cover.
You can help us to help you in the run up to the strike by making sure your home is fitted with a working smoke alarm and make sure you check on elderly and vulnerable members of your family and neighbourhood to make sure they have one too.
In an emergency, members of the public should continue to dial 999 and we will respond. Businesses make sure you follow up on automatic alarms with a phone call to ensure a response during periods of reduced fire cover.
Earlier this week FBU members joined colleagues nationally for a 24 hour strike in a dispute with Government over pension reforms. This action is over local issues and only affects Essex FBU.
