Essex County Fire and Rescue Service

Deaf Awareness Week Videos

These are the videos we have created and shared as part Deaf Awareness Week

The Service is using Deaf Awareness week as a springboard to develop closer links with the Deaf Community in Essex and will build on messages issued throughout the week to develop safety advice aimed specifically at this Community.

Paul Pemberton, currently working in Community Safety, said: “I have been working with Southend Deaf Club and learning British Sign Language for a number of years and now I plan on using what I have learned to help deliver important safety messages to the Deaf Community across Essex.

Over the course of Deaf Awareness Week ECFRS will also be sharing sign language videos specially tailored safety advice on our Twittter and Facebook feeds

Deaf people can arrange a free home fire safety visit by filling in the form on our website here.
