Clacton crew become TV street dancers

Clacton Fire Station’s Red Watch swapped their fire gear for dance suits when they took part in hit Sky One programme Ashley Banjo's Secret Street Crew.

Dean Woodburn, Anthony Clement, Rick Burnell, Scott Hepburn and Daniel Swansborough spent weeks in training with the Diversity star before unveiling their new found skills in front of an unsuspecting crowd of friends, family and colleagues at a special Fire Fighters Charity quiz night.

Firefighter Dean Woodburn said: “Scott put us forward for the programme and we were all really pleased when they chose us to take part.

“The training was very hard, it was all so new to us as well as being technical and extremely physical.

“The hardest part was keeping it secret from everyone to make sure that it was surprise for everyone on the night of our performance back in May last year. Now we're just looking forward to the screening.”

The programme will be screened on Sky One at 18:30hrs Sunday May 5.
