Christmas Open Days charity success
Christmas open days at three stations have raised over £2,100 for local causes.
Epping, Loughton and Waltham Abbey stations were transformed into Santa’s grottos with members of the public enjoying mince pies and Christmas cheer.
All three events included fire safety demonstrations and smoke alarm advice.
More than 300 children visited Loughton Fire Station’s Christmas Extravaganza over the weekend.
Local causes benefitting from donations include Macmillan Cancer Support, The Children’s Burn Foundation and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
Station Commander Paul Chipperfield said: “We have had a great response to the Santa’s grotto at Loughton Fire Station over the weekend. The Christmas open days were huge success.
“We are delighted to have raised so much money for fantastic causes.”
