Chinese delegation receives specialist training from ECFRS
ECFRS has welcomed a delegation of high-ranking Chinese fire officers to its Kelvedon Park headquarters this morning.
The delegation from Jiangsu arrived yesterday and met members of ECFRS’ Senior Management team. They are in the UK on a specialist training programme, secured commercially when fire officers joined an Essex County Council trade mission to China almost a year ago.
The delegation will be in Essex for five days. After this morning’s visit to headquarters where they met ECFRS’ FireBike and Community Wheels teams, they will travel to the Urban Search and Rescue station in Lexden.
Later in their visit, they will be taking part in incident command training at ECFRS’ Operational Command Assessment and Training facility in Laindon. On Sunday they will observe a major exercise at Thames Oil Port and on Monday they will participate in a live fire session at Wethersfield Training Centre where along with practical live fire and breathing apparatus experience, they will learn about fire behaviour theory.
