Audi donate new car to help road safety team

Essex Audi have donated a brand new Audi S3 car to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service's road safety team.

The new "FireCar" will be taken to events and gatherings in Essex which attract young people and modified car enthusiast. The car serves as a talking point between the young drivers and our road safety team, so they can positively engage with the drivers and give them life saving driving advice.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Dave Bill said:

"We are very grateful to the Essex Audi Group for donating this car to our road safety scheme, FireCar. It gives us a great opportunity to connect with young drivers and to help them be safer on the roads.

"Our firefighters have to deal with the devastating effects of road traffic collisions (RTCs) every single day. We are commited to reducing the numbers of RTCs on the roads of Essex and we couldn't do it without the support of our partners like Essex Audi and the Safer Essex Roads Partnership.

The fire service also has a FireBike scheme. Like the FireCar, these bikes help the Service engage positively with Essex motorcyclists on a range of safety and related issues. This helps to promote safer riding and reduce the number of motorcycling casualties in the county. More information:
