23/10/2020 @ 17:13
Incident Number: 133222
In attendance: 1 x Saffron Walden, 1 x Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), 1 x Chelmsford Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP)
Firefighters helped colleagues in the Ambulance Service to help a man to safety after he’d broken his leg.
Crews were called just before 5:15pm to help the Ambulance Service as access was difficult in and to the property.
Our Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team was called alongside the Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to assess the man’s condition and to assess the best way to bring him to safety.
An Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) was requested to gain closer access to the man on the first floor and alongside a HART technician, firefighters used the ALP to bring the man to safety.
He was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
