Incident Number: 125577
In attendance: Colchester x 2, Tiptree x 1, Urban Search and Rescue x 1

Crews tackled a fire on a lightship in Tollesbury.

Firefighters were called to Woodrolfe Road today at 3.08pm and discovered a vessel alight.

The lightship was about half a mile from the shore, which made it more difficult for crews to carry equipment and relay a water supply along the spit.

Two casualties were treated for smoke inhalation and were left in the care of the Air Ambulance.

The fire was extinguished by 4.27pm. The cause has been recorded as accidental.
