Crews were called to reports of a caravan fire in St. Osyth.

On arrival firefighters reported that the caravan, which measured 40 ft long and was used as a holiday home, was 100% alight.

Access to the site was difficult, but crews quickly reached the property and began tackling the fire.

Crews also worked with the Police and the site owner to evacuate around 20 - 30 caravans in the immediate area.

The fire was extinguished by 10.55pm.

As the roof collapsed during the fire, firefighters stayed at the scene for some time to dampen down hotspots and ensure the site was safe.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental or deliberate both possibilities.

The caravan has been completely destroyed.
