Firefighters saved nine horses from a stable fire last night.
On arrival, fire crews reported that around 75% of a single-storey block of stables, measuring around 30 metres by five metres, was alight.
Firefighters immediately called for the assistance of our Animal Rescue Unit to handle nine horses housed within the stable.
Fortunately, all nine animals have been rescued from the fire - with only one requiring assessment for injury.
Firefighters extinguished the fire completely by 0.42am, before using a Thermal Imaging Camera to identify and eliminate remaining hotspots.
An investigation found that the fire was caused accidentally by faulty wiring.
