Firefighters were called to a fire in a takeaway restaurant. When crews arrived at the incident they reported the restaurant's kitchen, which is on the first floor of the building, was on fire.
Fire crews managed to extinguish the fire by 11am.
An investigation into the fire has now taken place and the cause has been recorded as accidental.
Station Officer Darren Martin said:
"Our investigation showed that the fire started because the plate warming cupboard had been left on. This caused the floor to catch alight and smoulder overnight.
"On discovery of the fire the owner closed all the doors, left the building and contacted us, which was the right thing to do.
"To extinguish the fire it was necessary for us to cut away the flooring on the first floor, which has left the restaurant ceiling and the kitchen floor damaged. The building has also suffered slight water and smoke damage."
