Systems and Data Officer (Spatial)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £26,448 to £28,148 per annum
Location: SHQ Kelvedon Park
As Systems and Data Officer (Spatial) you will play a key role in managing Essex Fire and Rescue Services Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Spatial Data and Gazetteer Management System. You will be part of the Performance and Data Team and you will take a lead on further developing our Cadcorp desktop GIS and web GIS. This work will require you to work with a variety of teams across the Service and get involved in projects being delivered as part of our programme for change 2020.
As well as managing and developing the systems you will be responsible for the provision, maintenance and promotion of spatial data, spatial analysis and mapping products across all areas of the Service.
You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with strong analytical skills and experience of working with complex data. Experience of working with Cadcorp Geographic Information Systems, Ordnance Survey data and Aligned Assets Gazetteer Management System are desirable for this post. You will possess strong IT skills particularly in Excel and SQL. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required to communicate effectively and professionally with staff at all levels within ECFRS and our customers whilst remaining polite and calm under pressure.

Please note that the Service is undergoing a full review of the grading structure as part of a job evaluation project. Therefore your pay could be reviewed once this phase is completed; it is anticipated that this will be by 1st September 2018
