Community Safety Officer (1 x 12 month FTC/ 1 x Permanent Contract)

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for one fixed-term contract and one permanent contract as a Community Safety Officer within the Safer Communities Department. The successful applicants are required to report to the relevant Community Engagement Officer.

A Community Safety Officer’s role is to protect and save life, property and the environment by being responsible for supporting the Community Fire Safety Department in the day-to-day delivery of community safety strategy and initiatives; liaising with station watches and partnership agencies and conducting Home Safety Visits (HSV) in line with Essex County Fire & Rescue Service (ECFRS) policy.

Evening and weekend work is sometimes required to ensure that initiatives and activities are aligned to set strategies are supported by the Community Safety Team.

Eligibility

  1. The applicant must have a full UK driving licence as travelling is required for this role. be competent in their current role (vehicle will be provided for business use only).
  2. The applicant has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. The applicant is confident in using ICT systems such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint (may be role specific systems).
  4. The applicant has experience of analysing and interpreting information to develop solutions or solve problems.
